Happiness Through Music

Just like that we are already halfway through our 2014 Symphony Orchestra tour. We just returned from Toronto, and before that we already played in Boston, New York, and Washington DC. There’s no greater joy than roaring applause from our patrons after a well-executed performance. 

I love looking out from the woodwind section, above the Chinese instruments, the strings and finally the conductor to see the audience literally leaping from their seats to applaud. This, to me, is bliss.
In my young career as a musician, I’ve aspired to one objective—and performing with Shen Yun has enabled me to achieve it. That goal is to make people truly happy through music. 

The audience’s applause says it all—they are happy. When we play, there’s a feeling that the music we’re making goes beyond entertainment, like there’s a mystical power that fills the concert hall during these performances. It’s a power that enables worldly complexities to melt away.

Music Beyond Borders

Our orchestra has many international members, which makes the group very diverse and interesting. As you might guess from the company name, we have many Asian members. But we also have musicians from Spain (especially brass), Armenia (especially strings), Poland, Germany, Italy, Bulgaria, Australia, Slovania, Ukraine, the U.S. and Canada. With all these different national backgrounds, it's made our symphony tour seem like a tour of the United Nations.
